Listen, if you’ve come this far either you like me or you’re a stalker. Either way, welcome, it’s cool you are here! I have been capturing memories my entire life. I have a collection of grainy film images from high school that embody the awkwardness of a time that would otherwise have been lost. As an adult, or what would pass as one, I would follow my children around and take photos of them doing all the wonderful things children get to do. So, when the opportunity came for me to take photos as a career you know I said yes! I have now been doing this for over 15 years and I do not plan to ever stop. I have the support of my husband and our four children, and that will always be what drives me to dream bigger and do more.
When I was fifteen years old, I lived down the road from my stepfather and my sisters. I was raised by my grandmother after my mother passed from cancer, while my sisters stayed in their home. One week, my stepfather and sisters were away visiting relatives in another state, and their home caught on fire. I can vividly remember seeing the house completely engulfed in flames and spending the rest of the day crying and struggling with my grief. Inside their home were memories, now lost to the wind. Images of my childhood with my mother, her wedding dress, and her entire life, now ashes. This is what drives me to create memories for others, to capture legacies and moments that might have been lost.
